Well, yeah, but they do help. I had a bad case of bronchitis recently and the only way I was able to get to sleep was taking OTC ibuprofen.

Eh, I kind of disagree. Contributing until you hit the maximum employer match makes the most sense for quality of life.

It seems the biggest hurdle to IPv6 adoption is legacy software and hardware. Anything new that gets built can easily be v6 only.

Agreed, and something will go wrong (as every junior has experienced). You cannot lay blame on the AI when git blame shows your name.

I mean, this is just a one-time pad and I'm sure a court could compel your friend to give up the data.

If a state environmental agency asks you for your location on photos that you volunteered to upload and you freak out, you might be mentally ill.

Yeah I don't get why people don't understand this- there is not enough gold to base the entire global economy on it.

Agreed, pensions are obviously better but the private sector collectively decided not to have them much anymore.

There is a definite disconnect, I cannot think of ANY scenario in which I (as a developer and power user) would want the Start menu to search the internet.

Anyone else feel like bloat is usually not an algorithmic problem, but rather a library or environment issue most of the time?

Wanted to chime in that, at my job, hand-writing code has been massively helpful when debugging it. My mental model of what can go wrong is much easier to form if I wrote the code. A LLM will not always be able to solve these incidents, no

For sure, there are a bunch of cases of agents deleting files, leaking secrets, and wiping databases even when told not to.

Unfortunately it seems like no one does their due diligence any more. I recall a journalism class I took 10 years ago in undergrad that emphasized sources need to be vetted, have sufficient age, credentials, and any bias be identified. Nowa

I'm tired of the hype too. Yes, coding agents are useful but the bubble seems primed to pop. Agents are not profitable enough to justify the billions of investments in data centers and chips.

The fact that 996 is coming to America is an ill omen for worker's rights and, well, society in general IMO.

I disagree, the only real issue with UBI is the amount of inflation it will cause. Germany has something nearly approaching UBI and they are doing fine.

I think it's a good comment, given that the best agents seem to hallucinate something like 10% on a simple task and more than 70% on complex ones.
