If we're talking US real estate here, it's largely because of zoning making it de facto illegal to build anything except suburban single family homes or a downtown high rise, and because our public transit was dismantled long ago

As a hater of all three mainstream operating systems, I can say you've managed to upgrade my opinion of linux neckbeards, and downgrade my opinion of windows neckbeards all in one post. Incredible work.

I found this book pretty unconvincing, with way too few sources and way too many flimsy inferences. However, there is a great book about CIA guys creeping around Laurel Canyon, called Chaos [0]. It's filled with sources, research, an

A company always has shareholders. A privately-held share simply changed hands in private transactions, rather than in the public stock markets. So an LBO happens when a PE buyer makes a sufficiently attractive offer (privately) to the shar

I’d say they kept it together a little longer. My 2006 e46 still had most of that BMW DNA from my friends’ e36 & e30s… Even my 2010 e83 is essentially a lifted e46 (with a really bad suspension tune). IMHO it was really the f chassis wh

It is inexcusably obnoxious to do without iCloud, thanks to iOS' hamstrung file system & APIs, plus lightning being stuck on USB 2.0 speeds. But I think this is why the iPad Pro is on USB-C now: so you can hook up an external hard

He's clearly talking about the second-order effects of backup camera-centric design (worse visibility through the windows and touchscreen controls). Try reading a little more closely.
