I don't think these type of silly questions tell you anything meaningful as this is not how you code in the real world. Most people get nervous during interviews or don't perform well under timed tests. These type of interview que

Certainly some people do succeed through hard work alone, but corruption absolutely plays a large part at the top end of the spectrum. Youtube was mostly pirated content before they were bought, Zuckerburg stole the idea for FB and cheated

I've been there. It took me a while to figure out that the media manufactures stories to get eyeballs. Do some digging and you'll find a different story. Once you know the translation key, it is much less envious. - Overnight succ

Right, RAM an order of magnitude faster than disk, so calculations will be performed very quickly. Big data usually implies clusters of servers because the data won't fit on one server (even on the disk).

I've found companies typically use monolithic development because they don't get all of the benefits of modular development. e.g. they don't re-use code cause they only have 1 website (and don't care about open sourcing)

I've always preferred compressed earth blocks to superadobe ( http://opensourceecology.org/wiki/CEB_Press ). I think CEB has more potential to replace western buildings at a lower cost and low carbon footprint.

The virtual DOM is nice, although the only time I've seen a noticeable difference from two-way binding in speed is for tables with 1,000's of rows. The whole bit about React being more predictable than two-way binding is just an o

Can you build an SPA using just React? At the very least it seems like you'll need a URL router, and something like underscore.js to fill in the gaps.

Sounds eerily similar to my situation a month ago. I'm 28, grew up in Cleveland, worked mostly with Angular, and was let go the other month too. I'd start sewing seeds in every direction and see what takes root. Apply to jobs loca

Unless you are a one-man-shop, you don't need to know everything. You'd typically have a front-end dev, back-end dev, sys admin, etc. Successful startup founders don't possess those skills, they acquire them after they are su

Create an angular factory with a standard observer pattern. So you register the callback with something like MyFactory.register(updateUI()); and call MyFactory.notify(); after userService.logout(); which calls all the registered functions.
