You couldn't even if you wanted to, right? Doesn't apple have pretty crazy restrictions on VMs?

Social media predates the term social media by decades. It isn't dead and won't ever die because humans love to socialize and we will continue to use tech to facilitate that. Commercial social media on the other hand may well be d

Pretty sure Fedora, being based on Red Hat, has the strongest SELinux policy in place by default, and SELinux is pretty much the best sandboxing option available other than actual virtualization.

I hate that vibe coding is even a thing, kind of.I have no issue with people using AI to help them, but just letting the AI generate code and constantly copying and pasting until you get something you like shouldn't be considered any t

If you own it, you can put whatever apps you want on it, right?

Not exactly helpful, but I have little sympathy for people who put their digital lives in the control of a free service from a company, that, frankly, doesn't care about you at all - 'consumers are the product', etc etc.

Thanks :) I'm looking forward to starting to play around with that myself in the next few months. And particular guides you would recommend to get started?

Yeah, a VM or just filesystem snapshots make much more sense. Containers are so easy so people just started using them for every use case, even when it doesn't necessarily make the most sense.

As someone who hasn't done any local AI modeling but hopes to, could you clarify or explain your first sentence a little more? Happy to do my own research if you don't feel like teaching for free though - thanks for answering :)

I think ZFS snapshots, or whatever the brtfs equivalent is, makes a lot more sense than using containers just to experiment with theming. I also don't think the distinction between distro and container is murky at all .

The point is your 'question' was really a claim/assertion, and you know it. It doesn't make sense as a question in context otherwise. The claim/assertion has no basis in fact.

Science is a methodology. Science is applied equally in both disciplines. That one field has more uncontrolled variables does not make it less scientific.

The ZFS code was already released under the CDDL. What was stopping Apple from writing their own implementation like OpenZFS and FreeBSD, regardless of what happened with Sun?
