Wow I love this with my full heart. Is this C# only or do you have plans for other languages (like Typescript? Please?) I bet this idea blows up - ORMs are such a PITA, and I love tools like Dapper that just wrap the contrapositive of this

The weird thing about Scala is it's so nice and pure except all of the Object methods from Java, which sort of break the whole FP thing with it. I really want to love Scala, but it always feels 9/10ths of the thing.

There's nearly a million Brazilians in the US, including nearly 100,000 in NYC alone [0]. Protip: Go to Carioca in Astoria or Copacabana on 39th Ave. Holy shit Brazilians can cook. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/

Isn't the stereotype of SF arrogance? Most of the smartest people I've met work in O&G or aerospace, in places like Texas and Connecticut.

As a New Yorker, this comment is hilarious. Madison is about a third of the size of SF. As a polite reminder, SF is a little more than a third of the size of Queens, and fundamentally still kind of a small town compared to real cities. It&#

It's $9.6 million per life. They have a really nice set of guides here [0] on how to use it. There's a high and low value and also injury costs. Also, there's a cost to lost travel time. [0] https://www.transportat

Wells should have been shut down, and I say that as a libertarian. They should have been shut down for this alone: https://consumerist.com/5283290/affidavits-on-how-wells-farg...

1: Money fixes this, the others have more money than you can imagine. 2: Tesla self driving is statistically shit, the only two players that count are Cruise and Waymo, and only one of those makes cars. Either way, we're really far off

What's wrong with Ketamine? It's not particularly addictive, and it's worst side effect is kidney damage (which can be quite severe). Are you sure you don't mean Heroin or Fentanyl? Those are the worst of the bunch.

China moves fast. They move fast to build rail, to build cities, and to intern people. NYC learned the lessons when we went through something much (much!) smaller with Robert Moses destroying huge swathes of the city, so now doing anything

The ECS one is weirdly difficult to set up. If you just want Docker Repo (ECR) -> deploy with some config -> expose a single ingress point it sounds perfect, but I had a TON of trouble with it recently

OP is referring to the enormous riots and rollback of similar policies in a much, much more liberal country. When people talk about CNN being fake news, they're talking about this article. This is only feasible in the minds of people o

Eh, homeless people are occasionally right and a little less hysterical. Twitter is the equivalent of a small dog yapping at the homeless man yelling at a bus stop.

I think there's a political bias at play - fake news is usually attributed to the Right, and HN seems to be a lose coalition of progressives, neoliberals, and a few hard left who all dislike the Right. People can get blind about things
