In all honesty, we in the IT community will not escape the reality of politics. Neither does education prevent some really wild conspiracy theories(like Biden blew up NS2 or COVID vaccine is going to kill you)

US has been sanctioning NS2 building organizations for a while now. Arguing that Biden meant blowing it up, is straight up ignoring the history of actions.

It's "meh" level of quality, though. Useful for a very small subset and I would avoid it, if you're running a home server. (Cockpit's file server interface plugin is old and bad) I don't really know what you&#x

TBH - for any non-server class machine on my network, I'm fine with that. SSH should probably be running 24/7 on any server(to keep those resources allocated for maintenance access), but if it's my workstation with a monitor

This subthread of people being just anal about a comment that we should all understand the meaning of. Apple switched to ARM ISA and moved away from an open graphics abstraction layers. Those two things go hand-in-hand. ARM ISA isn't t

I was recently thinking on a way to open up my Jellyfin Media Server, so I can stream music from my personal collection. Jumpbox would easily incur a lot of traffic costs... due to all of the media being very large(many users of jellyfin su

Microsoft invested into DirecX. Valve invested in Steam Deck. Apple told game devs on Macs to GTFO, and this is the result. Did anyone else expect any other outcome?

Playstation is a stable platform, where game devs get to squeeze every little bit of performance out of. It doesn't come out every year, with new features. It's very different than anything on a Mac or PC.
