While we are at it, can we finally get rid of python 2? And find some sane way to not need python3.6 python3.7 and python3.8 laying around and installing each their own libs versions?

It has been several years ago that I discovered that despite a similar philosophy behind law-writing and programming, these worlds are very far apart and every year, even when I thought my cynicism was stable, the gap continues to widen. Th

It is mostly networking through friends of friends at this point. The big event I know is the IREX but I never got any contract from my contacts there. Cultivate friends and contacts that's my main advice.

That's a good move, though having a partner who can support greatly helps in my opinion. I live in a cheap countryside in Japan, doing remote consulting for deep learning and robotics. Your post was really interesting and I'll loo

Last time I used it was a couple of years ago but it was rife with incompatibilities between versions. Make no mistake, it was still a huge step forward for academia as the alternative was to manage all algorithms individually and design a

Kill Elsevier and paywall then. They are the alternative but no one is going to pay 30$ per paper they need to read. If references were hyper links to the full pdf, they would get more views

Steam was nowhere near the app store we know today when it was created. It was Valve's auto-updater and match-making service. They had a few partner games using it as well. I may recall it badly but I am pretty sure they opened it to g

They would have loved that though! I mean Steam was made as a panicked reaction when Microsoft announced its Windows store. People in the industry knew very well what they were trying to do.

In France I believe this may very well have been the case. But I would not be surprised if they plugged that hole with recent laws. Somehow, I believe piracy is prosecuted under counterfeiting laws there.
