I always saw it as a tight-coupling with whatever framework you are working with but a loose-coupling with whatever library you are working with, but I like this more. It's much more emotional, almost psychological horror to a programm

Please tell me there was more to that last story? Having someone come in and have a strong opinion on a topic, and have the gumption to state so in an interview, is exactly what I would look for. Did you poke them for more? Did you ask how

I mostly agree with your reply, and can thus, using my own rules, reply to you. I don't think I am 100% right. I don't think replying is 100% right. At this point the only person who will ever see this message is you, so it's

I know you know about Moral Hazard. I know you know about small bubbles allowed to get bigger getting out of control. I'm sure you know the phrase "Privatized gains and Socialized losses." These all apply here. The mark of a

And yet, during the recession of 2008 the M2 went up by a 1000 billion dollars, despite the fact that there were millions of houses foreclosed on, their assets tanked, and millions of loans defaulted. Curious how that works. Tether is much

I'm found of "a democratically elected government is the least bad monopoly". If you must have a monopoly, it should be a government. But if you can avoid a monopoly, do that instead.

Yeah, this is the same conclusion that I have reached. There's nothing wrong with design patterns. There's nothing wrong with language features. But you want to use the correct tool for the job. And for some reason with design pat

This is a consequence of scale. The larger the community, the less you see each individual, the less you are able to understand the other person. One of the most important posts I read on here was on weirdness budgets. Most people want to s

The wealth tax is a bad tax, but it's trying to fix a bad monetary system. When the Fed only cares about inflation and doesn't care at all about wealth inequality effect of lowered velocity, you get exactly what you incentivize. T

Weimar Germany was a short squeeze on gold caused by the war debt. Germany printed money to buy gold, but the more they printed, the more gold cost. This was predicted by Keynes ahead of time.

The Fed tracks inflation using the CPI, the price of things that are consumed. Food is an example of a consumed good. Housing is not, that is an investment. The portion of housing in the CPI is of the rent of the time that is now in the pas

I'm with you here, but anytime you have code changes of this magnitude you get political splits and people pushing for more than just fixing the issue to give power to their position. I have no idea how that would end up, how quickly t
