If you bear watching Netflix on the browser (for example Chrome and Firefox are restricted to 720p), you have the option to provide a subtitle file, but you are required to jump through another hoop as it needs to be in the DFXP format, not

I did that, not with Linode, but IIRC it stopped working around July/August 2015 and I stopped trying. They first completely stopped streaming to IPv6 addresses (people at that time were using Hurricane Electric as IPv6 tunneling) and

I've read a comment here that the HDMI lag on source switch is caused by DRM. I haven't investigated the claim but I consider it plausible... ^__^;

I would say clippy.el, and if Emacs is compiled with GTK+ support, it can display a "graphical" tooltip instead of a text one. Edit: I'm wrong, clippy describe a function in a tooltip, it doesn't show the definition, one

Thanks! Indeed they mention helium on their Exos X line but not on the Ironwolf models (for example the ST12000VN0007). For now I'll stick with the plain offer. ^__^;

I have a somewhat off-topic question: are the new 10/12 TB HDD filled with helium (He)? Last time I've checked on WesternDigital and Seagate sites I couldn't find any mention of it.

Without looking at the code, considering we are talking about GTK, I would guess it's related to "GObject Introspection".

With SBCL and Linux kernels with binfmt_misc support enabled (module or compiled) you can execute FASL file from command line, using the same SBCL core for all the executables and, I would add, with an "instantaneous" feel. ^__^ W

I have an XPS 13 and the coil whine is one of the things that annoyed me the most, seems like they don't care at all. I've briefly used a Thinkpad and on that front is dead silent. If they continue to provide a model with a Linux

If I can SSH to a remote host I can use Emacs TRAMP mode to edit files or I can mount the remote machine file system with SSHFS and change the file locally. I will never be forced to use vi! ^__^

When I can't have a working REPL I use inotify or entr (entrproject.org) to compile and run the program I'm editing when saving. It's not the same thing but it spares a few key strokes...
