> poor country plagued by graft and bureaucracy Tells me how little you know about the country. And that's okay. There are several "rich" countries that are also plagued by graft and bureaucracy. And no, they aren't a

I didn't know there was a term to it. I wouldn't think of my stance currently as advocating of purposeful scarcity in an anticipation of better distribution. Instead I do consider it critical to "take a step back" and &q

Heh, my brother got his Xbox original controller fixed for ₹200 which was just misbehaving due to old battery gunk. He could have afforded a new one, sure, but the charm of having the thing get another life, is a separate kick altogether :)

Food for thought: if a failure (of sorts) can make the successful rethink their ways of being, is that success missing the point, maybe? A lot of ways of life in India are sustainable. In fact going the consumerist ways of West is a step in

I'm a bit uneducated in the ways of shorting options. Is this topical because Mr. President induced a massive stock market meltdown in the US and his friends could have made a fortune for knowing the details and shorted the most likely

That's another way to put it. The disagreement doesn't still elevate either party to a moral high ground. That was the only thing that upset me about this write up.

Absolutely. While I am a person who would avoid politics in most contexts myself, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with this attitude in this write up. If you see others as being "insufficiently equipped" to handle nuan

I have to commend on the simplicity and clarity of thought in the write up. I could see what you were up to just by a skim through it (also thanks for the ready reference)! I'm pretty sure you'd already know of this, but once you&

I was this close to picking up the PhD route in applied mathematics for science and engineering. I took up a job in a map company, "just for the time being" and not commit to the "Finite Element Method" or something ar

I am actually also enjoying the critical thinking about UX that is stemming from this design. I'm starting to feel that full software modifiable screens are not the "new age" of in-car experience, but a v.01 of highly customi

Making command line tools at work really made me appreciate the work it takes to make a good one. Do you have a good `--help`? Did you catch the common mistakes and return a helpful error message? Did you put reasonable defaults? Do you hav

Likewise! The only reason I moved away from subl is that I got access to a big ass machine and I needed to work remotely. The performance of VS code here is so good that often times I forget that the code and terminal is not my local machin

That's how it feels to me as well. It's just a matter of cyclic evolution. We can specialize hardware at the chiplet level and at some point, I expect more players and more standards out there that "synchronization" and

I've written code in academia in applied mathematics. If I look at it today after 4 years of professional coding, I cringe. I know how horrible my code is. I know how poorly I understood oop and how none of the things were tested. Zilc
