I'm moving to the UK soon and was looking at Monzo for my bank. Looking at Monzo, not Revolut, and others, which ones would everyone here recommend for bank accounts, debit cards, and credit cards?

I've switched to Firefox over the last few weeks. It definitely feels faster on my desktop PC which runs Linux, also no problem in Windows when dual-booted. Though there are two big issues imo: - When running Firefox on my late 2013 Ma

If you can use something like samba or any other way of attaching a remote folder, Borg will work without SSH access. So you can also use Borg if you for example mount a Google Drive folder and use that as your repository. Correct me if I&#

I would also like to add to this list the fact that I want a voice as a paying member. There are a few longstanding issues that still haven't been solved (e.g.: dark GTK themes causing problems) that I would like my money to go to some

I watched this video from Mike Monteiro and I always refer to it since. It's about getting paid for the work you do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVkLVRt6c1U

I'm moving to an entirely different city for the first time in my life, moving into an apartment for the first time in my life (not including student studios as I am incredible fortunate with my parents). I look at it both ways: On the

I search questions on Google/Stackoverflow, I post questions on IRC because I do not want to put all of it out there and get berated by the SO community. Though I still know that most IRC channels have public logs.

I'm all for supporting the things that are good. But at what point do we say "enough!"? All of these subscription services start to add up, going from free to 5 USD a month is a bigger jump than I'm willing to take. Why

This definitely looks great. But I feel like 5 USD a month is a bit much for _"just a note taking app"_. Like I pay 5 USD a month for Spotify and the value it gives is substantially higher than a note-taking app, and I do not mean

The only thing I'm missing on Firefox is when I am on my Macbook, is that fling when using my touchpad. It's essential to any MacOS app and it feels weird not to have it. I'm used to it on Linux and Windows though.

It's strange to see this hit the US only just now. Chains like these are huge in Europe. In Belgium, where I live, Aldi isn't very big. They're being outplayed by a bigger local player: Colruyt. Aldi stores are usually pretty

What are your opinions of Go where it is the general idea to only have 1 way to do something, and make that way the best way?

It'd be indeed nice if this was open source. Having a server yourself somewhere using a VPN that you could run some stuff on while working on a slow laptop would be nice.

To be fair. That Golang implementation looks overly verbose. I mean compare the Typescript and Golang implementation. The Golang one isn't even readable. I'd personally use something else instead.

I wish GitHub had web push notifications. I'm happy that Reddit has them, but they barely work to be honest. Sometimes it seems to work, most of the times it just doesn't.

That's yet another stupid adapter you have to take with you everywhere. Even though I personally use wireless headphones, I wouldn't want to buy something new when _already_ getting a new phone or whatever.

Most often these tools are so lackluster that it's not even worth using them. These code generators can never achieve the quality that a good programmer can give.
