I can tell you _haven't_ meaningfully traveled a lot because you're making assertions about "correctness" on cultural differences. Some places smile, some don't. That's all fine. But thinking your way is the on

To clarify my stance, I do think that AI research is a good thing and that it can help us understand our own consciousness by studying it. I just think anyone concerned about AGI at this point is drinking too much kool-aid. I think science

I'm kind of shocked by this thread. I cant get over the hubris that we think concepts that were introduced to society at large by science fiction in and before the 19th century is _inevitable_ just because we made a really really good

I think the concern is that it will become a leading contributor to polarization. Polarization is the symptom. The cause is rampant misinformation and engagement based feeds on social media.

I agree with you on all of this. The no friends and no DIY is brutal for me to be honest. I think one thing that helps with some of this is staying in Hostels often even if they are sometimes a bit uncomfortable.I feel like people in hostel

You can find CSS only themes or Tailwind themes to use with Astro or Hugo. I personally liked Astro's approach to "Components", less glue more "just writing html/md". That is of course a learning curve on its o

I don't think this is the author's intent, but to whomever it may help. There will always be someone more "out there" than you. Traveling longer, with less, doing more, going farther. It's tempting to follow these p

I moved away from Adobe recently and ended up trying out Affinity Photo. Opening a RAF file would regularly seize my entire computer. I always wondered if it was a deadlock situation, because it doesn't spit out any overflow errors.

Some people might think so. In an art class a professor once told us that all photography can be a lie whether edited or not. Consider: Let's say I took a picture of a old man beating a child with a cane. In the video version of the ph

Sounds like 2 devices is the solution for you. I'm considering this phone because I'd like to box my media consumption to when I'm at home (at my desk). I however still need a device with Whatsapp + Authenticator to go about

The issue is that the internet is too ubiquitous. It'd be like trying to stop teenagers from smoking cigarettes when there are cigarette trees all over the place. While I agree parents need to do better, somethings become so big they a

I used to be vehemently against this. But now I really do think we need to reel in the youth having unfettered access to attention grabbing algorithms. I know this isn't really what this is for but it's a step. That being said, I

I was wondering the same thing. I have done a few toy projects in Zig, but found some of the docs lacking when you start to get into the weeds.

Kind of a ansilary question. Why are CEOs paid so handsomely if they dont't assume any risk for what their company does? You wanna be in charge? You want to apply pressure that pushes for growth over quality? You're responsible. W
