If there is no string concatenation operator (for run time), how do you concatenate strings at run time with Zig? Depends on what you work on, I guess, but in my area of expertise string operations like concatenation are bread-and-butter.

So it sounds to me as you are trying to create a replacement for BitBucket\GitHub and their ilk, not Git. This may be a worthwhile task. Maybe it makes sense to concentrate on this in your pitch. For BitBucket\GitHub\GitLab and for workflow

From my point of view, it's not that much about lying, for me the OP demonstrates a degree of incompetence of the post writers about Git. The fact that they don't seem to fully understand working of Git (not on the level of Git

How Haskell deals with access to shared resources which are mutable by their nature, like file system, or the outside world? (A honest question, I start to think that I'd like to learn more on this language)

I am curious, what "jira_version" in that listing means. Surely not Jira?.. :-)

I was not commenting on any measures intended to stop/reverse the climate change. (I don't have enough knowledge to various probabilities). I was just exposing a flaw in _your_ logic :-) You said: > Existential threat means thi

Well, one more condition is needed: scalable. An actual, working, viable carbon capture exists: growing trees and then cutting down and carbonizing them. Unfortunately, this does not scale to offset enough of CO2 in time.

Threat is not certainty. If somebody is out there to kill you, you are under an existential threat, until they are caught. It's not a reason to start playing Russian roulette, saying "I'm already in danger, cannot get worse t

If I remember correctly (and I followed the discussions on LKML at the time, but it was a long time ago), Reiser4 was not merged because it had some "cool" features that could cause problems. For example (again, IIRC), it allowed

How well people speaking different dialects understand one another? Is there some "common dialect" that everybody uses with speakers of dialect different from their own? What TV presenters use? Or nation-scale politicians?

I wish they'd use a different acronym, not ML: For me xxxML usually meant a flavor of XML, with ML standing for Markup Language... Is this use of ML standard in the industry?

Title case in unavoidably mentally taxing. It's trivial to convert sentence case to title case, but highly non-trivial in general to convert title case to sentence case (I know, I write code to do this :-)) To do it right, context, or

How do you know about "vast majority of people"? Did you run a survey? I for one also thought it was Microsoft Teams in the heading. If a heading misleads even a fraction of readership, for no apparent reason (what is the benefit

Not an equivalent, but I use "Git Extensions", and am very happy with it. I think Git on Windows uses forward slashes, but colon is retained, like this: directory = C:/Program Files (x86)/MyProject https:/

But to use geothermal power one does not need pre-existent geothermal activity, at least in principle. If the magma is close, you can get to a hot are by drilling, and then pump the cold water in and get the hot steam out. Now, I don't

Submechanophobia has a wikipedia page, which also indicates that there is some scientific research into this phobia (which does not have a good explanation). So it's not a one-person problem.

And this is scary. At least with "high-energy experiments" (like the one that discover Higgs) in colliders, a lot depends on so-called triggers, which dismiss 99.9% of information produced in a collision "on the spot",

This would require a change from the currently near-uniformly adopted standard. The problem with this: you need to create a new standard, get everybody to agree to it, and get busy scientists who are concentrating on content and not represe

TeX is about representation, not semantics, by design. To do anything useful with a function (like plotting) you need to get semantics. An often cited example: what is f(x+y) ? Is it function f with x+y as its argument, or constant f
