When testing for correctness why would you care about timing attacks? You would obviously have multiple tests covering correctness, performance, security, etc.

You can approve of and partake in an activity while also realizing that excessive use is detrimental. Like drinking.

Agreed, Imagine an MBP in an Air form factor with the same battery life. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Declarative is what we'd like programming to be in the future. At the highest level we could say "Computer, make me a first person shooter set in WW2" and receive a ready to play game from that.

I just read over the license, didn't see too weird except the part about the spec. If I read it correctly you can't modify shen if your modifications don't conform to the specification.

I'd like to see a list of apps that are over $10. Most people would consider that 'expensive' for an app. These 4 seem too obscure.

Just an FYI to everyone else who saw the domain name and clicked through, this is not by Steve Wozniak, it is by someone unrelated named Geoff Wozniak. Good article however.

>Even the term "Big Brother". It's from George Orwell's book "1984". I wonder how many younger programmers would know that. Probably most of them. 1984 is required reading in many highschools in america.

If you think hearthstone has difficult rules you should look at MTG. It's actually turning complete, the game is that complex. http://www.toothycat.net/~hologram/Turing/HowItWorks.html

Great ideas. Not sure what you mean by a code editor vs textarea, could you elaborate on that one?

"I have spent a good while" is fine, might sound odd to a non-native speaker however. "while" implies "time" in this context.

Just to add on to this for any non-native speakers. "picked up" in this context could be replaced with "acquired" without changing the meaning.

I'm a programmer as well and also do most of my work in a terminal, looks are still important to me. Especially font rendering which is something that Linux does subpar compared to Windows or OSX.

Because OS X "just works" and I don't need the level of control Linux gives me for a personal laptop(i use linux on my servers). Also the UI is far better than any Linux distro can offer.

I think you're overestimating the amount of people using Numpy. There's no way it's more popular than Django, scientific computing is mainly academic anyways.

It has nothing to do with "self respect". If Chrome dominates why would you waste time/money testing on other browsers?

No because it will confuse people from pretty much every other language that uses 'int' to mean 'signed integer'.

Caillou is pretty much the worst children's show I have ever seen, the hate is not undeserved. He constantly whines and has tantrums and his parents always give in, just teaches children to be insufferable to get your way.
