Judging by the top submission being also written in python, I think this just shows how unoptimized OP's original code was rather than how slow the language is. Not that python is fast, it isn't. And using numpy seems a bit dising

You could try https://flippa.com/ I don't know how big of a cut they take but they have a bidding process, you could also open it to the public.

Any free app either has in-app purchases or advertisements. This app has both(you can just look at the app store listing and see this).

I can't imagine WebM impacting 4chan anytime soon, it will probably reduce 4chan's load when(if) WebM takes off but I highly doubt more than a small fraction will choose WebM over a .gif in the immediate future.

Huh, interesting. Any idea why they would even include HBO in the chart if they weren't offering it?

It's probably because iOS betas attract a lot of non-devs. OS X market share is pretty low compared to iOS.

From the changelog |Memory usage building Firefox with debug enabled was reduced from 15GB to 3.5GB; link time from 1700 seconds to 350 seconds. That's pretty impressive.

Google comes across as a hero because the end result is cheap and fast internet access. AT&T and Google both play the regulatory game but AT&T ends up gouging their consumers and not delivering on advertised speeds.

The article said something about being as good as GCC with O1, is that not enough? Pardon my ignorance, I've never touched c/c++ (python guy).

Can someone explain why CompCert is not more popular? A formally verified compiler seems to be much more useful than something that can produce bugs.

While i'd agree that it's not fun to get hit in the face with a hard rubber ball, all the foam balls I've ever used have a considerable amount of drag and are impossible to throw well.

They don't want to give away spots to people who aren't actually going to go, if they pre-charge you and refund later the candidates that register are more likely to actually attend.

Yep, if we ban these drugs because it's "not fair" we are limiting our progress as a society, unless they pose a health risk there is nothing wrong with them.

Wow I've never heard of this but I can definitely see it in myself. I'm pretty much useless on days when I forget my medicine, but usually more productive than others then I do take it.

I signed up for glass about a month ago, took less than a week to get my invite. Is availability even an issue? It seems like anyone who wants one (and has $1500) can get one easily.

This is completely not true, on PyPi there are more libraries supporting 3.x than 2.x. The only major 2.x packages that I can think of that haven't been ported are twisted and gevent(?). http://python3wos.appspot.com/
