He may not be a brilliant researcher, but he is a brilliant teacher. I am glad he is joining Anthropic so he can stay up to date with the next round of things that he will teach :)

Well whatever debt they took on to refill it would have been paid off quickly. Buy at $60, start a war with Iran, sell at the new price, profit. I guess the reason they didn’t do this is they thought Iran would fold quickly and oil would be

It’s interesting to me that it says that in some versions of second brain: “Second brain grows, but first brain doesn’t get smarter.” Something I remember Tiago Forte said, which turned me off of his partículas brand of a second brain, is t

It’s quite common these days to treat an LLM as a policy in the sense that it takes as a “state” the previous context, and its task is to choose a continuation, as an “action”. It gets a “reward” from a reward model that was trained on huma

I think you’ve got it backwards. MIT used to be brain-draining China, India, Iran, Europe, etc into schools like MIT. The lower numbers mean this is happening less. There are likely multiple factors: becoming less attractive, their domestic

I read this as saying that MIT is becoming less competitive? Means if you just finished your BS, applying to a PhD program at MIT may be a 20% better bet than before, especially with the job market in its current condition…

I will brave the downvotes and say: I don’t like Costco. It’s not out of snobbishness, their quality is excellent at excellent prices. My problem is that I find I spend more at Costco than at conventional grocery stores like Trader Joe’s. T
