As I understand it, paracetamol was discovered as the active metabolite of a much more damaging drug (acetanilide); and that most of paracetamol's effects is due to a metabolite of paracetamol in turn, namely AM404. Why the pharmaceuti

Be careful what you wish for: once they're done desalinating the oceans, they'll go after people! It'll be like the salt vampires from TOS.

>It's not "perfect" but it's _literally_ the best humans have come up with. Picking nits, but isn't Sainte-Laguë better? Anyway, I think GP was arguing that no matter how fair your voting method, it's of lim

I only say this half-seriously, but that's why I sometimes think that part of any performance test should be "try to run your software on a Pentium 4". If it's unusable, go back and optimize some more. But it won't

If nonlinear mathematical optimization counts as machine learning, there's been at least one paper (see my other post[1] and optimization group's page[2]). Carpalx[3] is more like what you envision, but it uses simulated annealing

The big caveat is obviously the word "greedy". A state need not be greedy, nor for that matter needs a group of politically motivated people running a LOIC against any Bitcoin node they may find.

Which is why every trusted computing platform with free software on it should have an owner override. (The total count of such platforms is, as far as I know, unfortunately zero.)
