I tried fish some time ago. I thought it was pretty cool, but I didn't end up using it because it lacked Vi(m) key bindings.

The thing is, the pagerank should not matter. What you want when you search the internet is a relevant result, regardless of its pagerank. If the system relies too much in the pagerank to determine whether a site is relevant to your search

Hmmm... Linux takes a lot of time to prompt for a password again once an incorrect one has been entered. I'm guessing this may be the reason.
