Binary files are not usually edited by hand, and should not get broken without a broken parser or writer. There can be many more ways of fixing them too because it may not be as ambiguous as broken sv files.

Csv files are bad for many reasons, some of which are listed as positives in the article. I’m not talking about other formats.

That came far after csv files started being used and many parsers don’t follow the spec. Even if they do, editing the file manually can easily and silent break it - my criticisms are of entirely valid to the new spec files. The wide range o

As a complete aside I’ve always hated that explanation where air moves up and over a bump, the lines get closer together and then the explanation is the pressure lowers at that point. Also the idea that the lines of air look the same befo

You shouldn’t have to do this but it may be worth adding a note at the end of a comment about this here - accusations of someone being or using LLMs are often thrown out and very rudely (even if correct about the llm use, I don’t think that

A dictionary is wildly different from a bank of highlights and notes. Are you thinking of just books like novels? There’s a lot of reading of technical or scientific or reference material.

It’s not about chargebacks. If you can’t understand that from the comment and my followups I’m not able to explain it clearly enough for you and we should end it here, have a nice night.

Read the whole comment because that statement is not an excuse, it is simply a nod to how it differs from other payments. The rest of the comment explains why I think the situation arises like this. It really isn’t hard to read so try and i

I didn’t say it was an excuse given here, have you tried reading the whole comment? It’s not very long and shouldn’t be hard to understand. If it is I can help explain it.

What laws are stopping Mastercard taking money for adult games but not onlyfans or pornhub?

I feel like nobody cares really and none of the companies care, but are all worried because of the massive stranglehold 2 players have (and realistically each has almost entire control). Mastercard don't care you want porn, or games, o

There’s nothing saying they didn’t do this deliberately, but it’d still be an unsubstantiated accusation to say that’s why there was a problem with auth.

Nothing here says auth was vibe coded. It’s a platform for vibe coding.

I massively agree. Huge amounts of coding isn’t wild new inventions, it’s not unknowable work like so many seem to suggest when asked to estimate time. Frankly it’s not even conceptually hard, it’s just that computers are fast and accurate

That’s an even worse reason to use a temporary redirection service. If you really need to, put in both.

Adding an external service so you don’t have to store a few hundred bytes is wild, particularly within a pdf.

Then that definition is at odds with how the field has used it for many decades. You can have your own definition of words but it makes it harder to communicate.

I feel like the barrier for self hosting could be so much lower. The resources required to host a static site are tiny and even a dynamic one with comments accessed by all the people I actually know could easily run on a cheap router.

Having something else help doesn’t preclude reading with them - it also may have better advice. Very rarely is anyone suggesting an all or nothing approach when talking about adding a tool.
