Sorry I'd misunderstood I thought you were describing infrastructure that already exists and making a comparison to just using your ID.

The companies don’t, and th government already has your government id.

What you’re describing is infrastructure that doesn’t necessarily exist right now for use online, and has all the privacy problems described. Why should I have to share more than required?

But why? Why add a manual, less accurate step instead of just using HA and solving it once? Steaming takes 20 minutes, a quick wash is ~1h, a boil wash more like 4h. Why do I want only my phone to have a notification? Why do I want it to

Raining outside my window and likely rain right now are different, also wind speed. Opening a window isn't very accurate for wind at all, and I feel like you're acknowledging there that knowing that part can be useful, why not jus

Plenty have short term info about the current rain situation. You can check the radar too. Frankly just knowing that while it's clear here it's hammering it down not far away and it's been heading towards us this morning give

That's the weather right now. I want to know what the weather will be like through the day and across days. I'd rather do something else in the morning, however if it's ok now and going to rain in two hours, I'll get eve

It depends if that works for you or not. For some if that alarm goes off while they're in the middle of something they'll either snooze it (now you're getting disturbed more times) or turn it off, perhaps both. This seems qui

I'm not arguing to spend lots of money, I'm saying that this is not an unhealthy tech setup. It's quite clear from this writeup that they either enjoy it or were thinking about selling it, or both, and money does not seem to

Sounds like the quality isn't all that great but LD06 sensors look like they're about $20 and someone who works on libraries about this suggested the STL27L which seems to be about $160 and here's an outdoor scan from it: ht

FWIW you need to pay for the trmnl key ($50) to use your own device with their servers, but if you run a server yourself you don’t need to pay. I’m very tempted, a lot lower resolution than a kindle but it’d be pretty cool.

Vibe coding doesn't mean that it's rebuilt from the spec from scratch each time, nor does it mean nobody looks at the application. It originally meant nobody looked at the code at all, although that's much more diluted I feel

Are you saying I’m wrong that some models are better for some tasks than others, but there isn’t a universally best model for all tasks?

I’ve felt like a good response to the vibe coding thing is that customers, product managers, etc ask for features and don’t read the code. You don’t need to read the code of something to build a level of trust about what it does and whether
