Funny to see 0 of 50 comments on a HN tech article being tech-related...

There's at least one good reason: one of the major investors in Reddit is Tencent.

I've written a DVD a week ago :) Also, CD-Rs are used a lot in legal world, DVDs in medical equipment. BDs in studios and for data backup.

I wish there was a more in-depth PDF for DVD and Blu-ray. I found it really hard to follow the decoding process from light to user data. :(

I've heard "new" Grafana is running something like chromium for server-side rendering under the hood. Is it true? (it's freaking me out a bit) Sorry if it's a silly question.

reCAPTCHA should be banned from existence as it is. It's the worst, most annoying form of human detection ever invented (yet?). I know lots of legit sites that generate their own puzzles (usually just text or numbers) and don't ev

Nice. I've agtually built the "greenest" (I hate the term, but still) possible home mini data-centre in apartment about 10y ago, and it's working flawlessly. I wanted to make a video about it or write an article, but ...

So, library aside, Meshnet is becoming free too? I'm hearing about it for the first time and would like to try, but also want to hear pros and cons.

There was one laptop made by ASUS. It had SO much connectivity in a 12" case no one attempted ever since. And it would be the best if not for poor battery life. But the battery was swappable. The model is U6Sg. If I could buy anything

No, we don't. And with having enough budget and skills we try our best to shield stuff we make. As for radio noises: just remember that every freakin physical body is an antenna. Not just wires. All we can do generally is tune things i

I cannot upvote you enough, as I've been through similar problems many times. But in your case you could just re-crimp one side of your cable with unshielded connector. This is actually a good practice not only for noise and ground-loo

This once again reminded me: is there a simple, one-click way for a completely non-IT person to ask for remote assistance without having to configure sshd and getting a static IP address?
