BTW, initially I thought the article will be about 3D house printing. And that may actually be the way out of this grey box boredom.

Cannot agree more on the brainwashing part. It happens in many, if not all, vectors of education. Loss of harmonic perception in many aspects of science.

This is exactly a continuation of what happened to art in general in the beginning of 20th century when modernism was (forcibly) introduced as opposition to classicism. Started with paintings and performances, continued in architecture...

A note about corporate thinking... I've worked for a small software company around 2010s, we had complex software that consisted of Delphi and BCB components and I made some parts in MFC. Turned out my part was very small compared to o

And the funny part is that the flash player is 10 times smaller than Electron. And sometimes 10 times faster. And nicer.

You've touched the painful spot ) https://ibb.co/r3f9JyR I don't know what does nVidia put in those HUGE driver DLLs (probably FPGA config), but that could be fine unless TONS of bloatware round.

I mean long-range bridges (up to 15km) like D-Link, Microtik, Ubiquiti, etc.

I'd go for narrow beam wi-fi bridge, dishes are really small and not very expensive ($200 a pair). But tracking those is also possible, though, harder to be spotted for the first time.

I'm really glad we have thoughtful people like you here. Gives me a little hope and motivation. What's worse, MS and hw companies are joining efforts and may pressure Linux platforms as well (remember the story with the UEFI shim

Not sure of today, but a few years ago, AMD was harder to work with - getting parts, documentation, expamples, SDKs, etc. etc. (If you're not Sony). As I was told, lots of AMD initiatives towards openness were discontinued when AMD was

Absolutely agree. Paging keys are essential. This laptop is huge, but keyboard is crippled. And small lapotps with good heyboards ARE TOTALLY POSSIBLE. Obvious ThinkPads aside, look up ASUS U6Sg, which was an IDEAL laptop in every aspect ex

As usual, selling something for inadequately high price is a standard money laundering scheme. Often, VERY often used on modern (or not) "works of art" auctions. It's just a way to transfer sometimes ridiculously high amounts

Mozilla has been committing suicide last 10 years or so. I'm forced to use long outdated version because I'm too horrified by looking at screenshots of each new release, not to mention the obvious API and settings cuts. To me it l

More than anything else, this card looks like a Tyan IPMI / OPMA add-on card for server boards. I'd love to have one if that's the case.

Infectonator: World Dominator was much, much funnier. And it was a bit scarying how realisticly it served as a model. I stopped playing in 2020, for obvious reasons (Flash stopped updating :) ).

I was about to suggest wx too. :) Currently they natively support GTK and WinAPI as backends, which is why it's so fast. In case they revive wxQt, it'll be my choice for new projects. But right now, from UX and portability perspec

It's a sad thing what current Web turned into. Google docs spreadsheets are taking 2 to 3 minutes to load on my laptop. IMHO, people shouldn't drag everything into the browser just because they can.

personally, I've opted out to use an analog LCD single-button-eraseable pen screen to draw memos. Adding a digitizer whould be great, but that would be a totally different device class. And price.

What a great example of ridiculousness of web 3.0 researchsquare.com loads and then "An unexpected error has occurred." fullscreen. Disabling JS and CSS makes it worse. So un-scientific.
