Asymmetric encryption learning would be a lot quicker if they'd call public keys "locks". Maybe not very accurate, but when I heard the word once, I immediately understood the whole concept, easily.

GitHub became more a social platform rather than just a code repository and it let you build up a community - I can't argue with that. But it's a large commercial company that doesn't really care about you. Now, when it'

Very cool! Not exactly to _my_ personal taste, but objectively a very nice project! Kudos for USB-A 3.0. Love the openness, Coreboot and the configurator. The warranty is impressive. I wish more products like this existed! On the design dow

At least someone talks about more or less natural regeneration, not inventing more crutches (like mechanical organs or nanorobots).

I've recently came to despise HDMI too. When I realized how many OFFICIAL standard revisions are there and how many fakes are on the market... With DisplayPort you have one cable serving you for a DECADE of HW revisions, supporting all

The only "smart" thing I wanted in a TV is a SMB-capable media player. And nothing else, literally. I had to hack my tv to install CIFS module and a few dirty hacks to mount the NAS, but it was worth it. Because I hate to have an

Many people download once, use constantly and on many machines. My dev PC was never online since it was put together, all patching and updating was performed offline. All builds were bit-to-bit reproducible.

That's exactly why people hate tar/UNIX generally. Tons of parameters that don't EVEN CLOSELY represent their purpose. For example: -j -J if noone told me, I'd assume they were "join" or "jump", or so
