I am a former high school teacher working with Chicago kids age 15-22 (yes). I don't know about you, but they're children to me. They are simply not equipped with enough information to make rational choices in a system that has ei

It's pretty funny how we're running into AI-winter at the same time the autonomous vehicle VC boom is moving all their money to scooters.

Not at all (we rolled our own back end). The added complexity of building queries to join our API ended up creating such a quagmire of SQL that any dev coming in will basically have to learn our own custom ORM.

I used Redux when it first came out, but now use Mobx as it's just... easier and has less boilerplate. Also it's easy to extend into a reframe-like pure function state management system if you want to avoid passing around objects&

https://github.com/plexus/chestnut is Clojurescript, but it's fantastic. It's quite easy to roll out a UI and you can build your backend to your specifications. A bit less opinionated than Luminus, but both g

Is not the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics always circumvented on Earth? We absorb more energy in the form of light from the sun than we emit.

Thanks, right on. It's a huge organization - I think small potatoes like my dev shoppe need to be wary of just doubling down 'because Google.' Angular was hopefully an outlier! Looking forward to seeing how Kubernetes evolves

Before I get down-voted to oblivion, apologies for snark but I think I'm making a valid point. A lot of engineer's decided to throw in with AngularJS because of Google's "considerable weight" but as we're seein

The takedown on Heroku's dyno scaling was impressive. But also funny how they got themselves in that situation to begin with. If there's one thing about this world, RAP music will pay for $20k worth of Dyno's a month! Sad sad
