This works because this filter will match every mail, not just the mails that have the spam label. In the end it does what you wanted but the error is still right.

That's probably just because everything is cached now. Connected apps can't make loading slower.

There is no glitch that just adds trash labels. Did you check if you have any filters set up that might be responsible?

The old design will completely go away in the next few days. From a development perspective it's just not feasible to make everything work for two different designs (with many many themes). It's better to spend the time on cool new features

The dots are the "grippy". You can use them to e.g. drag the mail over a label to move it there. In the old design they were always there, but now they are only showed on hover to remove "clutter".
