For some reason the icons appear to be broken (appearing as the kind of squares you see when a character isn't supported) for me on this work computer using the latest stable Chrome (23, running on Windows 7 x64). They show up right in Fire

Speaking of archaisms, especially in case of video/film content, there's also one other thing... exclusive licensing. Seriously, exclusive licensing has absolutely no place whatsoever in the digital market. Yet they're still generally bundl

Gotta say I have to give props to Australia for objecting to most of these. Some relevant reading: http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120613/12491719310/rip-of... http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20121116/02455021073/domain...

I've seen many people bring up the fact that MegaUpload had the same file for multiple links and that they only took down links reported as infringing. Many people seem to come to the conclusion that this is automatically somehow representa

That's nice and all, except that I quite specifically wrote that equally simple yet better solutions exist. Anyway, giving VLC 2.0.4 on Windows a spin, the audio glitch on pause is certainly still there. I guess I'll take your word on it be

The difference here is that the better players also play a similarly wide range of formats (since it generally all comes down to libavcodec at some point), but due to various factors they overall do it better . I keep VLC installed for tes

Is there a difference in the default font size of iPad 2 and iPad Mini? Seeing as the latter has a higher pixel density, it would make sense to me (but you never know). Anyway, if that is indeed the case, you could use CSS media queries bui

To add to the clarification, both DVD and Blu-ray content is basically always sampled as YUV 4:2:0, and basically no transcode ever changes that. Masters generally have higher chroma sampling (eg. 4:2:2) but this is reduced to 4:2:0 when th
