Ice cream is 1.5 qt not 1/2 gallon. I don't know what they put into pizza "dough" but it's not real flour. Everything has been spreadsheeted to death.

If you can only make X number of widgets, you must increase the price until demand stabilizes at X.

This is what consumers are always told. Prices go up as demand goes up or scarcity increases.

There was a time when people could write, and thus read, longer than a tweet. Some of us remember that time and are still able to do it.

Actually no. It’s dev FOMO. A tremendous amount of go has been written without all this. Go has just gotten more popular so devs want to make it into something they’ve used before instead of learning to use the language the way it is.

Surely it was pressure from devs to make Go look like every other language they begged to change then abandoned for the new hotness.

Right? Sigh. I really dislike this. There are 37000 programming languages, stop forcing every single one that gets popular to look like this.

> Usually discussions about money are never actually about money, but rather safety, fear, etc. What keeps me from retiring early and not socking away more money is the fear that medical insurance will refuse to pay for something major.

The issue isn't the technology (git, subversion, cvs, etc), it's that developers FOMO and glom on to what every other developer uses so you end up with these huge silos that they inevitably complain about.

That's so sad. Maybe if devs weren't so FOMO, they wouldn't tie themselves so tightly to things like github, chrome, etc.

Current admin will not regulate them. This is them essentially bragging how powerful and autonomous their "AI" is. It isn't scaring their real customers or employees to talk like this.

Oh come now. It is very much in OpenAI's best interest to make it sound to naive people that that "AI" decided to go rogue on it's own.

There's a parcel of land in Texas that was left to the city to be used as a park, they've since sold it to a Data Center. Though, this isn't strictly imminent domain... Just people being assholes.
