You can upload pages to archive.org? Wouldn't that open the door for spam and other abuse? I checked some other site and the Adsense code is not changed by archive.org. So something is strange. Maybe Gwern experimented with different

Well, the point of the guide is the nice 2-D visualization. Which he cannot do for the 100-D problem of course. It would be nice to make the same guide but with a harder 2-D landscape.

Where do your ads appear? On your site I do not see a publisher signup page.

He seems to not show how the ads looked like on his page. He seems to only attribute it to load time. But maybe the ads were visually annoying? Why no screenshots?

I would love to see this with a more complicated search space. The two examples are too easy to climb. Would be really interesting to see how the different algorithms travel through a landscape where it is hard to find the optimum. And to

Usually I hate every additional button. But anything that fights AMP is good. AMP is one of the biggest threats to the open internet at the moment. Any numbers on how much traffic a news publisher loses out if they flat out refuse the AMP b

Man, we are bringing a giant load of complexity into the browser with this. As I understand it, what we get in return is a 2x speed increase. I wonder if its worth it.

The article claims that the base of Amazons success is their approach to make internal services compete externally. I think this is just an implementation detail. The broader concept is their willingness and ability to keep improving the us
