This completely misses the first point the parent comment made. Even if we agree that the map wasn’t _made_ with racist or discriminatory intent, and hand sound reasoning for existing as it did (preserving angles as another comment mentione

Upsettingly, this reality is here. Beyond TrueBill, which was brought up in other comments, there are real issues with stopping malicious / anti-pattern subscriptions. Some cases _require you to pay just to stop a recurring charge_. A

Would be super interested in hearing more about where you could find such a deal _with a physical SIM_. Seems far too good to be true.

Honestly I’m amazed that you managed to find a closer for this argument. And it works. I was _firmly_ of the “204 instead of 404” camp, but I find the “swap between static and dynamic serving” quite compelling. It’s worth being redundantly

I’m nosy sure I agree. There definitely isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” to writing Rust, but I do think that falling back to a “error here? try .clone()” mentality ends up defeating the purpose. Maybe what Rust needs is a “build a program with

While this is a huge issue, a solution (well, a partial mitigation) I've seen and used is the "Pointing and Calling" technique. The basic idea is that you incorporate more actions beyond reading and typing or pressing a butto

Huh. From what you said and then a quick peek at the docs Zig does seem great in that regard, but in my own experience I’ve definitely found Rust to be equally competent. What about Zig would you say makes it better? Rust has `cargo build -

Is there any advice for working with older systemd versions? Right off the bat, systemd 237 is out because there is no security feature for that version of systemd-analyze.

The important point isn’t that there’s a wild card, it’s that there isn’t an undefined clause. You know with compiler-assured certainty that WYSIWYG, which is a big step in code predictability.

Not a compiler hacker and unfamiliar with the scene but is there a specific reason that `git-lfs` wouldn’t work? It’s the first thing that came to mind reading this. You can also pretty easily fetch specific objects as opposed to everything

Cannot agree with this enough. All the dumb keyboard layout cargo culting aside, this is why I recommend people learn Dvorak. It has been hugely successful for everyone I’ve gotten to make the transition.

Funny, that was my first thought as well. Recently read their engineering blog post from 2012 on the API gateway + UI system [1] and thought it was really cool and made a lot of sense (in their specific, truly massive use case). From recent

Interesting. Other estimates had put it in the “upwards of a year” territory [1,2] so to me this 6-month estimate seems optimistic. Samsung only recently (end of March) got their fab up and running close to production levels. NXP was a bit

Took a quick glance and noticed that this article is claiming "duck.com" is owned by Google, even though it redirects to DuckDuckGo. That domain has Namecheap's Whois Guard enabled, so there's no registrant information.

Super glad to see that OP posted the code! :) We as a community also need to do a better job of embracing unpolished projects and emphasizing a “don’t be bashful” approach. I’ve seen far too many hobbiest projects posted here where the comm

Seems that it is now. It was originally just Messaging and Connections that had an "incident", so I wonder if something else happened or they manually changed the status to at least own that all their services went FUBAR.
