Yes that's better than having your utilities shut off and being evicted a month later with greater debts. As long as the person doesn't take out loans there's a good chance they can recover with government assistance. There a

It's mixed. Ethereum is gpu, bitcoin is ASICs, monero is cpu for example. Heavy overlap in raw materials and supply chain regardless.

Yes, but more generally they use the same raw materials.

Location-neutral also means sitting directly on top of coal mines. If somebody's mining bitcoin they're clearly not interested in ethics in the first place.

Are they really? There are a few popular mobile games, but mostly predatory skinner boxes at high risk of regulation. Translations of Chinese books/films/comics are still consistently awful.

What's the point? Once people realise that you control all transactions those tokens you've hoarded immediately become worthless. You've destroyed other people's "money" at the expense of your own.

Norway is absolutely shifting away from fossil fuels themselves for domestic use. They're the world leader in electric cars, for example. The thrust of the article is that somehow they should change worldwide oil production (which they

People working in game design choose to accept lower pay and worse working conditions than other industries offer for the same skills. That makes no sense unless they're gamers themselves.

If you're taking about the UK, the obvious starting point would be ending subsidies for buy-to-let. In a pandemic with vast spending deficits, the government is giving out mortgage holidays, 95% mortgage scheme, stamp duty holiday etc.

I agree that people should be more specific. Financial crime is not the only possible use of cryptocurrencies, but it is the only use case where it is potentially better than dollars.

You might want to try out Power Query (get & transform). Step-by-step repeatable transformations where the UI records steps and writes code in the background. Almost exactly what you're talking about, and comes out-of-the-box in th

The only selling point of NFTs is that they are poorly understood, making them useful for fraud. Specifically wash trading/money laundering. Is that really a success?

Ransomware is a job for these people. They're not doing it for fun. Would you take a job if you were paid in only iTunes vouchers? There would still be a few people, but not the vast and expanding industry that we have at the moment.
