You're right. You don't have to solve a problem. But you do have to create something people want, or something that appeals to them. Technically, there aren't many "problems" in life besides survival. Everything else though has to appeal to

No need to be overdramatic about this... I doubt the average mom is worried in the middle of the night about what circle a friend belongs to. .

don't overestimate it either. I know people who make tons of spam thin pages ranking for searches like "Nikon D40 camera Amazon coupon". All they have is a link to the Amazon page, and they make lots of money thru it. That's a sale Amazon w

How is this gonna make you a million dollars? You're applying to YC, this ain't a hobby project, so that's why this is a legit question. For the record, it doesn't really solve a pain for me. Just a minor annoyance, and it's not something I

I meant convert it to a real native app, not wrap it. I meant actually converting the Javascript to Objective C. So when you do: <div>Hi there!</div><div padding="5px">Hello!</div>, it gets converted to: fram

It's funny. Google Profiles actually exposes your email addresses to harvestors: (ie profiles.google.com/GMAIL_USERNAME). Google+ at least fixes that.

I definitely agree. Google+ isn't that revolutionary that people will continue talking about it months from now when it's open to the public. They should've made it open to anyone and capitalized on all the press happening. And I don't thin

I suspect Amazon secretly wish they could just get rid of their entire affiliate program. If it was so profitable, they wouldn't be getting rid of affiliates left and right. If you think about it, most people who buy thru an Amazon affiliat

Noone will care, and noone will use it. If it won't help you get laid, or boost your ego, it'll be useless. We human beings are not rational.

I think you're wrong. Yes, a lot of very good domains are taken, but you can spend as little as $200 in Flippa.com to get a decent one that people can at least remember.

The combination of a steep learning curve (probably easier than ObjC but not by much) plus the less than robust support for all of iOS features still makes me prefer native. Make something as easy and simple as JQuery, and make it 95% robus

It's not significant. In the world of search engines, you need to be the #1 or #2 player to earn major revenue. People aren't gonna wanna waste any time/energy advertising on your platform if you're getting just a handful of searches per mo

I suspect DDG is having trouble making money hence the need to make a commotion about filter bubbles and generating some linkbait. No surprise... < 1% of a search engine market is not gonna even make you much at the end of the day.

This is a problem where technology is actually a very huge obstacle, probably a huger one than marketing. How are you gonna get all that data? It's not structured on the web so you can't easily crawl it. You have to rely on people uploading

AOL has a responsibility to its shareholders first and foremost. Making employees write about stuff they don't know about is not exactly slave labor... if they don't like it, then just quit, it's that simple.

Myth #6 describes me. I prefer authentic one on one connections rather than spreading myself "too thin". I think that's a problem w/ people with too many friends. Having too many friends is good but it also means you can't be great friends
