The current mobile software ecosystem makes me so angry. We could truly have flip phones if only whatsapp, imessage, and whatever else were open protocols. Just program a simplified client that sips battery and is optimized for number keys

I was talking about non proprietary boards on the whole, not just the CPU. Also if everything is documented it's not a big deal to customize your bootloader to do all the needed stuff. Of course standards would be very welcome, but at

Canon's EOS Webcam Utility supports cameras down to the EOS 1100D, which, depending on your level of luck, you can find used under $100. Then all you need is a kit lens which can be found for very very cheap nowadays. Or, if you really

Developers should just stop putting up with this nonsense and start migrating to non proprietary RISC-V boards. We already have low cost options for developers who want to get their feet wet, the moment we start having a decent community ar

Why would I need an underpowered laptop with a laggy e-ink screen and probably a bottom of the barrel keyboard? First of all it's a terrible reading experience. Why would I want to lug around a whole laptop to read some books? My 10.1&

I think some work should be put on the slider. The fast forward mode goes from decade to decade instead of just going from year to year faster. Also the site can't keep up with the accelerated speed so you miss tons of changes

For some obtuse reason people think software is some ethereal magic abstraction that somehow doesn't follow any rules or practices. We have to start pushing for the fact that yes, to engineer software you need a true engineer just like
