Its because the engineering tollerances on new appliances are tiny, I recently installed an oven and the sheet metal couldnt be more than 1/16' thick (1.5mm). I was stunned by the fact i could probably punch through it.

As someone who has a 3d printer running about a quarter of the time less than 10 feet away from me hearing that it could be bad for me is alarming that it could be harming me. (Other than the lost sleep because its loud) When though of as a

The purchasing of the new best thing can also be the case, take for example that there hasn't been a flagship phone that actually fits in most peoples single hand since the SE and yet I know lots of people that will just "buy the

A counter point is that as solar and wind decrease the cost for intermittent the cost of reliable constant power may actually increase due to the shutdown of coal plants and the potential of new carbon taxes which would functionally provide

One of the main benefits of nuclear power is that you can take coal fired base load power plants offline which are a major producer of emissions. The need for large amounts of base energy consumption will never go away, it will increase as

Blast furnaces do not need fuel to create iron, the process in which iron oxide is converted to iron is endothermic but the coke itself is the fuel in the furnace. It actually is necessary to do this to produce carbon monoxide which reacts

I find anecdotally that someone usually has something that they are the 1/1000 over. For some people it's comment threads or sharing articles with friends but somewhere they fall into a 1/1000 category where they put their cr

Anyone in the field that can say as to when this is actually feasible? It says that they have investigated production by the ton but went back to improving its properties. Are we talking 10 years? 20? 50? I just want a ballpark estimate.
