I thought speech recognition was still very inaccurate & hasn't improved much in the last 5-10 years. Has it suddenly become usable?

Yours isn't a dual core. The GP's Asus is dual core, but it's about $800 = 1k with a $200 SSD. FWIW I'm not entirely certain the Air is a good value, & would appreciate a real comparison.

I am shocked the copy-everything-apple-does-a-year-late-and-compete-on-price business model isn't very profitable.

It's like one of those "you know you're a bad programmer if.." quizzes. It doesn't say anything you don't already know, & it's just playing on peoples insecurities.

Generally harsh criticism from people with some power over me. No matter how boring the subject matter, this makes me more likely to work at it & to seek their approval.

This stockholm syndrome is annoyingly hard to avoid. I've known about it, but I can recall many similar occasions after reading this article.

Trolls used to be normal people too .. http://i.imgur.com/wOY9d.png I'm a recovering troll myself, so I understand the motivation. Most of them are really just looking for recognition.

Well even if that's true (n=2 isn't a sample), it doesn't affect the article's claims. The pilots mentioned performed better than the baseline.

I can't see that you disagreed with me, & I don't disagree with you either. Something's always lost in these 'revolutions', but we always gain more than we lose. That's why we're switching mediums in the first place.
