"If you think clearly about your problem, invariants, and APIs then you will guide yourself towards a decent system." This is the most beneficial part of TDD to me. Most devs will deny this, but their biggest issue with TDD is not

I've seen monoliths running on 10 year old technology using runtimes and development kits that have been deprecated or are no longer supported by their maintainers. These applications are being used in production today by billion dolla

As a Black man in his late thirties, this is one of the most difficult things for me to accept. I'm from Dayton, OH. I grew up on the west side of Dayton, which is the side of town where most Black people in the city lived. My bitterne

I've always found it hard to believe that any human being that ever lived would even begin to understand the intentions of such an entity. It would be like the ants that you've placed in an ant farm claiming to understand why they

I think the more effective approach to preventing parts of a city from being overrun by drug use and violence, is to find out why people are turning to drug use and violence in the first place and then address those underlying issues. And y

I've been working for big companies (Fortune 100) exclusively as a contractor for the last four years. The unspoken expectation has been for me to be able to do the job well enough to produce production quality code without training.

I remember being exposed to that novel for the first time as a young man while watching The Matrix. Neo was hiding a data disk in a hollowed out copy of the book on his bookshelf. The ideas were far beyond what I could relate to or understa

I guess I'm confused about why you would need to coordinate deployments. In my mind each microservice is completely decoupled from any other. There are a large number of tools to automate the process of testing and deployment. I think

I’m having a really hard time understanding the pushback against a microservice architecture. Done properly, I can’t see the difference between building an app using a microservices architecture and a mashup. Am I being naive?
