I don’t agree with the overarching theme of „structure over spontaneity“. Some of the most impactfull print designs of the past started with „structure“ or some orher sort of „form follows function“.

No. The cult members are less likely to be laid off. Simply because they don‘t stand out and provide less surface for attack.

This view is very „hackernewsy“ and reveals a lot more about the mindset around here than the what is going on with apple. Firstly i don‘t think there is much fluctuation with the apple design team except when Ive left but i guess that was

A few more years ago everyone wanted to be a startup founder. Then everyone wanted a cozy FAANG job and now people are afraid of AI taking it.

Not a big fan of after work drinks but it‘s a great way to connect if you are new to the city. However, i think it is much better to connect and socialize with people outside of work. If financial dependencies are minimized, people tend to

Firstly- the airbnb redesign is still flat and minimal. Only the icon bar is different- but not in a good way. The design is too heavy, unclear and does a bad job adding to the rest. Of course the ceo is trying to paint the redesign in the

This is the most perplexing thing about AI. And it is not just their own work but also every product of culture they love, which they are ready to surrender for beeing „ahead of the curve“ in very shallow ways.

It feels so strange to read blogposts like this in 2025. The level of mediocrity makes you question if this has been created by a human or an ai bot. Next you start questioning yourself why you still look into your smartphone like a junkie.

Don’t do it. I replayed Botw before Totk came out on a higher res tv. The wold felt a lot more empty than the first time and totk felt even more repetitive. I decided to be a lot morecareful with replays these days.

Or move on from software dev- or not even code a single line and jump to „architect“ or some other bs position straight out of university.

In the examples you mentioned bureaucracy is less of a problem. They could do it but this is hard work in a sense which the culture does not reward. The problem with germans in general is that they are unwilling or badly trained in „thinkin

I still use google. However, the most annoying thing i find is the AI generated response. I use google as a translator by adding „dict“ to the search. I also use the search function on old fashioned forums. It works. Yesterday i tried Cha

I agree to a lot of this. But there is something even more disturbing than the constant surveillance. With the rise of AI we can no longer be sure if what we devote our attention to is an artefact of culture or just some derivative that has
