I've really slowed using Facebook because of the amount of misinformation or straight up lies by some acquaintance. Comments on any kind of news source are pretty bad as well. So many lies just made the platform unusable for me.

My understanding of Kindle and Audible on iOS is that Amazon does not _sell_ content on the iOS apps. You can only download/access your content. I always found this annoying with Audible and having to use my laptop to purchase and then

Ugh, I worked in a code base that had a lot of Cyrillic characters and the code base got moved to our (English language) team. It was difficult to work out what was going on and with a lot of Google translate we ended up with an English cod

You don't need to become a MAMIL or even buy expensive gear to road ride. I cycle on a $250 mountain bike in running shorts and a singlet. I'll wear jeans and a jumper if it's cold. Crashes are a reality, the same as driving

Parent comment probably means access to the administration and administration supporters for Thiel and related companies. Much easier to be a voice in a room of 10 people than a voice in a room of 1000. Trump and his picks were more likely

I found the exact same thing. I found the staff rude, slow and like they thought I was beneath them. I consider myself a skilled developer with a long, happy client list filled with some pretty big names. I also felt like they didn't r

The web still exists very much as it was. You could set up your own site and host any kind of weapons content you wanted assuming it fits with your local legislation. YouTube has no obligation to host your content. It's annoying that t

This really seems like a solved problem in Australia. Once you leave the store with your purchase your reciept is stamped. If a stamped reciept is coming out of the store it's a simple check of the date and time, which can be verified

The author probably got paid an amount for writing the book and then hands all rights over to the publisher. The publisher then prints it forever and takes the income from that. This is a guess based on working with other publishers though.

We should try and be more sinister. Imagine a company purchases or influences a plugin so much that when a news article is read about E Corp dumping toxic waste into drinking water the content is changed to play down the numbers and sentime

I suppose you could go even further with it if they had things like hosting with AWS. With the product information you mentioned and any technical information they could pick up through AWS I'm sure they know exactly what to pay for so

We're not talking about US, Britain, Europe or any other country. It's also not a prerequisite to be Chinese or Uyghur to discuss this topic. If someone learns and becomes educated on a topic they can discuss it. He's also no

This post is clearly suggesting that the PEOPLE of those nations don't want that dystopian future. What China is doing in Xinjiang is not something many, if any, citizens around the world want.

The US strategy seems pretty simple. A free, democratic or perhaps autocratic pro-western government. It also seems like you're willfully ignoring the history about the US allying with the Taliban during the Soviet invasion.
