Got ECC udimm for my ddr4 server and was surprised to see it picking up errors occasionally (once every couple months). Likely from a weakness in one of the sticks. This far it’s always corrected it though so opted to keep them anyway (nobo

You don’t need an espionage case to decide a provider is too much risk. The political unreliability alone is enough. Just takes one orange guy waking up in a foul mood one day and doing something erratic. That increases risk for using anyth

The German providers have always been more aggressive on KYC & simply saying no to potential clients in some cases.

Outside of corporate I think the world will just abandon MS. Their tactics has become so aggressive and their software so broken that it’s getting harder to ignore

Alternatively cheapest fix is an m10 optane and nvme enclosure. You maybe need to enable usb quirks in the kernel depending on on enclosure. Costs about 20 bucks all in That’ll keep the rasp online for essentially forever cause optane isn’t

Yeah I also try to compact/restart at 250k. I noticed though that it tracks with how big the project is so I guess the people needing more are just working on bigger projects

Of all the policies they opt to roll back they pick that? This always seemed more like a streamlining effort for which much of the processes already exist (e.g. EUSS already uses pure online docs). Gov already has all that info. Meanwhile t

Push down official on paper limits while limiting real world backlash by artificially inflating real world usage above paper limits with resets.

LG's bad faith actions aside I'd think this also casts significant doubt on MS's running of Win Update. Why are they allowing mystery crap to be installed on user machines on plugging in a device? All sort of aggressive drive

It's so strange to me that tech crowd uses macs for use cases that spend all their time idle or serve some light http request. It's a glorified API gateway...it could run on a medium sized potato Almost like an entire generation j

Why are hardware manufacturers so shit at software? Whether it’s router safety or NVIDIA software hammering DNS servers hundreds of thousands of times or this. Across the board they seem below average competent when it comes to software. I

Evil as ICE no doubt is, I think the framing as "shuffles" to separate families and undermine due process as the intention is likely wrong even if that's a side-effect. If you had to fill 20 flights going to various countries

It's a sound prediction on regulation, but I don't think that's enough. US is about 4% of world pop. And a lot of private use within those 4% will prioritize price. Still a huge market with disproportionate spending power but
