I don't get the frustration about overhiring. Predicting the future is provably impossible. Everybody is going to get it wrong to some degree. I'd much rather see companies overhire than underhire. At least then the laid off emplo

Is there any country where offering voluntary severance would break the law? I doubt it. My guess is it's US only because US employees get paid the most.

It's not guaranteed, but Google does give you severance if you're fired for low performance. I'd assume you have to agree not to sue them in order to get it though.

If I already had a solid offer somewhere else, I'd take the severance. If I didn't, I wouldn't leave it up to chance, and I can't imagine many other people would. With only three weeks to make decision, my guess is high

In my state, many of the new roads being built do in fact pay for themselves via tolls. I expect that model of financing to get much more common now that computers are able to automatically read your license plate and issue the toll.

It's completely irrelevant whether they have done it or not. The only thing that matters is the fact that they can do it. We're not going let you have nukes just because you haven't nuked anybody yet.

There's at least three separate reasons that justify banning TikTok. If Trump bails them out, it's a complete betrayal of his base and the country at large. 1. Competitive balance. China does not allow US social media companies. I

Workers need to tread carefully here. If you there's no need to be in the office, what's to stop corporate from replacing you with an Indian that costs 1/3rd as much? Push back too hard on RTO and you may not have a job at al
