I'm curious, what big EU tech companies so big they would be subjected to regulation? AFAIK it's mostly telcos, consulting and semiconductors makers. Telcos are already heavily regulated (at least here in Italy), the rest doesn&#x

One use case where pure Deno works for me is shell scripts. Writing them in Deno is quite pleasant and they usually don't need many dependencies. Plus you can always host then and just "deno run <url>" from any machine

The problem here is that most platform tax your income, not your userbase size. If you think of big free to play Unity games like Genshin Impact (or even smaller stuff like VRChat) the amount of paying user is probably in the single digit p

A more important issue that's not being considered here is that when they had their debacle with Improbable, they committed to a GitHub repo[1] with all the ToS changes and outright said that people could keep using the ToS of whatever

What smell test? I very much remember cookie banners being a problem way before the GDPR and so does the rest of the web: (2012) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19505835 (2013) https://econsultancy.com

Please don't adopt this line of reasoning. Anyone's argument doesn't have to stand on their personal achievements and public works. Just because you're not a chef doesn't mean you can't call one out if they put

I'd choose a lower paid role, I'd be a minority but I don't think I'd be the only one, two reasons come to mind why 20% less would be appealing: - People like me value their work/life balance and satisfaction with t

I always assume Electron apps are going to be more vulnerable than your average app. They tend to have the same vulnerabilities as web browsers (who are a big target for exploits given the reach) but have 2 additional layers of "bureau

How does this work with GDPR? As far as I'm aware (not a lawyer) you must provide a easy opt-out from data collection and usage, plus you must not force your employees into such agreements[1]. ChatGPT already got blocked over GDPR issu

Indeed, another annoyance I have with Designer is how not purely vector it is. I mean it's great and makes it a breeze to make documents but it really sucks for making web-targeted SVGs. Both Inkscape and Illustrator support using SVG

I still think this is way off-topic and not related to Tantacrul or his content (and rather, his employer). But why are you blaming Muse Group for everything and not the Audacity devs? Wouldn't they be the black mark of the FOSS comm
