The Jones act doesn't prohibit anything about bringing ships into the US to construct things. The closest reason I can think of you thinking that is it allows injured sailors to sue for damages. Maybe that equipment leads to a huge num

Seems like about 10 minutes, and a single pump averages around 100 a day (although guessing that second one could have some serious rounding)

Their last earnings report says about 17B in non-cash assets with about 848M in profit based on those assets (assuming that the quarterly profit x 4 is a reasonable assumption). So where are your numbers from?

How would it be nontrivial? Assuming the AI can replace a programmer "reproduce app/api/ecosystem Y" is just tokens. And a negligible amount for trillion dollar companies that have their own data centers.

I don't think it's an issue here. If the investor relations people put it out, it would be. But in this case it is closer to marketing.

"Days" is too long when you need power at night. Coal and gas combined cycle plants take too long just like nuclear. Turbines could work. But that's not the majority of plants.

A healthy cartel means consistent oil prices. Without it, oil may average cheaper over the long term (and almost certainly over the short term), but there will be a lot more variance.

No one with a small 401k is able to invest in OpenAI/Anthropic/etc. The people investing in those companies can afford to lose their investments.
