Building data centers relies on immense manufacturing. The GPUs, systems, cooling, batteries, etc don't come from no where. They have strict replacement schedules too.

People have realized you don't always need a Fable level model. Majority of my work is sufficient with ChatGPT Luna which has effectively unlimited usage on the $100 ChatGPT plan. I am not doing awfully complex tasks though. I imagine

What exactly does this mean? You can verify the pricing differences from their official API vs. OpenRouter. If you have some grand conspiracy, you should be able to validate it. Yes, on occasion, OpenAI has offered Discounts on their API.

A Windows 11 machine with 8GB of memory is borderline unusable. We can go in circles about how developers need to optimize their applications, etc but truth of the matter is that 8GB is considered pretty low for a lot of "average"
