Anthropic seemingly is one of the only profitable AI companies at the moment. The AI "bubble" is hard to pop, at least for this big companies which will just receive bailout after bailout from the Government if shit hits the fan.

I would probably consider books to be a form of art. Art is very varied, its not just paintings or photographs. Video games can be art, music can be art (artists!), an eloquent dance can be art.

Slightly unrelated, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson is such a great read and is overshadowed compared to a lot of other Science fiction, cyberpunk, predictive novels.

It does. If AGI is achieved, OpenAI or whatever frontier AI Lab will effectively become a mega company with the ability to do anything. A chatbot is not the long term goal for any of these companies.

A 1999 Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla, assuming serviced regularly (and competently) could easily be on the road today. I genuinely do not believe a 2025 car will usable on the road in 2035 (a mere 9 years), yet known 15 or 20 years from now

Home "ownership" is misleading. You don't own a home until you've paid it off. Younger people are getting into more debt, for much longer in order to be able to survive. When we start comparing the numbers (i.e, house pa

I know this would add to pricing/model/plan confusion but what about Claude Pro plan can only access Sonnet and Haiku Models via Claude Code? Opus is fairly useless on Pro given the rate limits anyways.

This isn't the smoking gun you think it is though. Of course Alcohol and Tobacco are high up on the list because they are legal. The percentage of people drinking vs percentage of people doing heroin is not even comparable. Apparently

Exactly this. Australia (and the States) tried to impose ever increasing tax and restriction on smoking and over the last few years, smoking has reached critical mass, with more people smoking, cheaper smokes, and smokes becoming more avail

I predominantly agree with your comment, although framing the way the legal system works as just "elect a party who says they want to remove it" is fairly short sighted in my opinion. It is much easier to pass new laws, then to re

Because modern CPUs are on platforms that support only DDR5. If you are a gamer, chances are you want one of the AMD X3D CPUs. Whilst AMD did produce 5600X3D, 5700X3D and the highly sought after 5800X3D, these are effectively unobtainable n
