Trying to paint that line is a bit too politically minded for my tastes. From the perspective of choosing a license for your GitHub project, GPL is restricting the consumers of your project (other developers). Attempting to explain the purp

The order of operations is strict, when you specify you want something you grab it. In contrast Haskells evaluation order does not match the definition order necessarily.

HTTP can transfer arbitrary binary data just fine. There is no need to encode it. I don't know which they use but HTTP traditionally uses a `Content Length` or an empty chunk to represent the end of data.

Most Fortune 1000 companies don't allow their end users to install anything so this just causes the IT guy the amount of time it takes to have the config file set to "don't do that", heck they probably only have to do it

You got the downvotes for editing your question to complain, including vulgarity in a few instances. People bitching in questions is a lot of peoples pet peeves (because it is frustrating to moderate correctly). I would agree that "off

Games are one of the areas where it is a bit foggier as your rendering loop is incredibly sensitive to performance problems. You have a ton of work to do and cannot take more than 16.7ms (60Hz) to do it in period. Heck given the recent move

Telling a hundred threads to do work is easy, figuring out how to sync all of the answers is the hard part. I am not saying you can't pull it off, but the proposed solution doesn't simplify the complex part of those operations.

How do you do IO without stalling your whole program while it accesses the data, specifically the fact that the asynchronous call is terminated in your main loop, not where you are accessing the IO itself.

And note that there is no way to resolve this without some fundamental changes as Haskell requires that the two operands and the resultant type share a type. (Otherwise you could do some tricks with recursive types to accomplish this)

Go seems to have solved the IO problem, but what about the general asynchronous issue? How do you handle calling a function several thousand times on dozens of threads and combine the results?

I think the largest hurdle is designing a GPU that can do both ray tracing and the current system without being absurdly expensive. You need to be able to handle existing games as well as the next generation to sell the hardware.
