IIRC the only opportunity was Obamacare, which at the time made sense since the abortion was protected by SC precedent. Unless they eliminate the filibuster (which they don't have the votes to do) the Republicans will always block such

We will spend $26.1 billion on pork in 2023 ( https://www.cagw.org/reporting/pig-book ). The budget is $6.4 trillion. You wouldn't notice 0.4% lower costs (not to mention we are hugely in a deficit this year so ther

Your logic is flawed fundamentally. Should we disallow encrypted traffic between machines because that encrypted traffic could be CSAM? Saying "X is bad so we should be rid of it" requires a method to get rid of it. Obviously givi

100% this is sketch. I was thinking if this was a supported security model you shouldn't be able to take control without disabling the TPM. But it isn't so not the OSes problem.

I think it is fair to say that OS configuration to fix this should be required. I agree with the logic that by default the OS is doing the right thing without any changes to support this model.

Technically, but really the fault lies in the OS for providing an exploitable prompt that doesn't break the chain of custody of the boot process on failure.

So the problem is you as the receiver can't say the package was stolen only that you didn't receive it. If you have a porch camera that shows a theft then that is reportable. "Amazon says they delivered it but they didn'

The only justification for avoiding displaying them is wanting to hide something. To your point actual pass through fees are transparent. So what don't they want to show you? The claim of packaging is a crock of shit. Cox won't gi

What makes something a pass through fee? Does access to a conduit count? Does sales tax count? Pass-through fees is a vague category that effectively means "I spent money" which is useless.

There is an explicit exemption for mandatory charges. If Comcast decides to change it's rate because of those fees it can explain that.

It could be the failure mode is identifiable on the OS and Linux didn't add detection and fallback support. Honestly though it could also be workarounds. Windows is king at making stuff like this work by hard coding overrides. E.g. a c

Volume matters and if the majority are outside that window it shouldn't impact the majority. Again though the bar for Judicial overriding a consistent ruling should be very high. And they consistently made this choice.

O(n^2) is a pain. Just updating everyone with what happened in a tick requires 4,000,000 data points a tick at 2,000 players. At 10 Hz that is 40 million updates a second. There are caches and prediction that can help but I ignore all gamep

I do think you adding "if they took data" to this is a bit odd given the original post makes it very clear their defense relied on not taking data or changing anything.

Did MLB promote baseball cards saying that their profitability would lead to increased value? Because in this case the company did exactly that. While they didn't call them securities they marketed them as securities.

Anything that reports to credit bureaus counts. Also I am always surprised when people don't treat CC expenses as they would cash... CC interest has always been intolerably high to me. I totally get emergencies and now I am out money.
