It's positive but still no where near the scale of fossil fuels. If you consider the likely energy need growth of society, exponential maybe, it is really hard to see how solar and wind will cut it. Personally i think a full embracemen

It's hard to argue that it's cheap but I believe the value is there. The quality of their products tends to be second to none and the freedom to combine and it also seems hack is phenomenal.

Your final statement is demonstrably incorrect. The world is full of large software projects not using statically typed FP and actually surprisingly little from the likes of haskell beyond self serving academic noodling.

I have used both in production setting and can say that the tooling for most CL implementations is just plain light years ahead of Clojure, and there is no sign of it really improving. For Clojure the interactive debugging experience is jus

It baffles me that this notion of Lisp as an interpreted language still persists. Common Lisp is a compiled language for all non toy implementations, and in general Lisps have had compilers for decades.

It's easy to just see it from the pc market perspective but there are a lot of non pc gaming platforms; mobile and consoles. Also is not only about gaming it's also about those fancy GUIs on cars fridges coffee machines etc

In my opinion SC has suffered from extreme feature creep. They should have stayed focused on a core of space sim functionality (whatever was in the initial KS promise). Talk of FPS functionality, for example, was a needless distraction.

Ease of implementation is an excuse for other things in Clojure as well, single pass compiler comes to mind. But I would give up all of these for an interactive debugger. The series below shows how Common Lisp debuggers are light years ahea

How exactly was that not realisable before? Common Lisp is a multi-paradigm programming language, arguably more so than Clojure because it has a fully featured multi dispatch object system as well.

How does being dynamically typed seal it's fate? Dynamic typing does not seem to be on the way out at all, cases in point; Javascript (everywhere), Python, Ruby to name the big ones.
