It's difficult to manage full stop. Not necessarily impossible. There is a role for good leadership within a corporation. Part of that is to ensure that organisational system is working together towards the quality achievement of a com

This story is an example of the dangers of centralised power and cronyism and less to do with the individuals rights or wrongs. Lysenko had the support of Stalin even when he was proven wrong time and again.

Imo ES got benefit from open source sa marketing tool. Amd no matter what AWS contributed back the fact is ES doesn't want someone else to reap the benefit of that marketing play.

They tried to play a game with open source, they knew the rules and AWS did nothing wrong, not even ethically, it's all in the spirit and the letter of the licenses ES chose (for example). I've literally no sympathy for ES whatsoe

Supply and demand should normalize when enough capacity has been provided. The challenge is at least two fold in my opinion, first of all semi conductor fabrication capacity is stretched right now and additional capacity has a significant c

I believe that one way to deal with communal ownership is to ensure that transgression against the communal contract are captured and addressed, just as should be in social commune. Of course the challenge is to ensure that is done in a po

There is evidence that many of the new GPUs are being bought by crypto miners and there is vocal out cry because some feel these cards should be for consumers (gamers), which is frankly bizarre.

What's the level of informed that's required? And if you need to be informed to comment online should also require the same levels for voting. It seems it would be just as if not more so for the latter. Also, who's deciding t

When a driver fails they are culpable, when an auto pilot fails who is culpable, who loses a license and potentially faces criminal charges? Auto pilot vs human drivers is not apples to apples because of the culpability question imo.

Sure, but making everyone scared to have any sort of discourse with people for fear of offending each other will do nothing to improve racial integration. I'm of Irish decent and it has had it's fair share of stigmatism throughout

Remarking on the colour of some ones skin is like saying you have very blond hair. Are we in denial of skin tone or something and that it's different from various regions of earth, come on.

No, but no one could truly quantify the cost. The same was true for Covid at the beginning, no one could quantify how bad it actually would be with wild figures in the 5%+ mortality rate. So we screamed for shutdown. Problem though is that

I would not be surprised if there was a lot of sunk cost fallacy on Intel's 10nm. They couldn't make it work effectively and it was so far behind that they bled out most of their process leadership. But rather than pivot and reset
