I upvoted because Twitch is a really interesting case. The Levenshtein distance between the trademarks is closer, and Twitch is pretty much entirely focused on video, which makes it encroaching on TWiT's domain of business.

Youtube is run by idiots. What they needed is to create their own Patreon clone/gift system (like Twitch did, for example) and open it to all the users. Bang, no more ads needed! Even if big advertisers don't like some channel&#

Yet a lot of, say, Hawaiian words are written like that and nobody cares. Seems like Nazarbaev wants to keep the language ASCII instead of adding diacritics which would make it hard to type.

This is an argument on the level of "Mussolini made the trains run on time". Why not blame your local corrupt dictator for making life even worse than it was under Soviet rule instead?

Dial is a bad design for time, because most of the time people want to heat something up for a short time: 15, 30 or 60 seconds. On many microwaves this involves slightly turning a dial and then counting the required number of seconds in yo

My point is that "mute" is strictly better than "block", so there's no reason to have "block" in the first place. Even if somebody likes the misfeature of the blockee knowing they're blocked, you can

So you're saying Twitter already has a block function that actually works? Then it's all the more baffling they also have one that doesn't work, and yet is somehow more well known.

I think the fundamental property of a block feature should be complete undetectability that the user has been blocked by the user in question. For example Usenet killfile: you never know if you're in somebody's killfile unless the

I'd rather be wary of explaining mathematical concepts with pictures. Pictures are known to be highly misleading and force the reader to imagine a thing in a certain way. For example, most pictures of triangles have all 3 angles being

I would like this. Often I want to flag an article because I feel it's of poor quality, but refrain from it because the mods might think I flagged it because of some partisan reason and my flagging rights will be taken away.

No, to both. Religion is a choice (in free countries, at least) and does not require special protection. It's no different than saying disparaging remarks about Republicans or Democrats.

No, algorithms always matter. Especially in web-development. Yes, Javascript is slow. But there's no need to make it even slower by writing O(n^2) code where O(n) suffices. You don't even need to reach large n's to feel the l
