In part because of the drive-by questions, they also often force waterfall-like design: few like the answer to their question being "idk, we'll find out when we get there". So rather than a lightweight doc that looks for obvi

I've seen a couple minor, older-hardware cases when they've been powered off with something on the screen for years, but that's about it. in theory they can also "burn in" by not clearing the display occasionally (

fwiw: when I've uploaded tracks I've purchased, it almost immediately locks them because they're copyrighted... because AFAICT it's a feature for independent musicians to upload their own stuff, not a library backup.

This, plus it's less obtuse than drug naming, and about on par with any other random product on the market. Which is not to claim the general market is full of good names - clearly it is not. But I don't think it's below par

"Toasts are inherently bad for accessibility and bad UX, therefore GitHub is bad for not canonizing them into browsers" ... that's a somewhat odd stance to take.

> Toasts pose significant accessibility concerns and are not recommended for use. yeah. OBVIOUSLY. good fucking riddance. they wouldn't be half as bad if they always came with a notification center for seeing the ones you missed.
