I encountered this issue with LinkedIn. With LinkedIn, they restricted the password length to something like 20 characters, but accept an input of arbitrary size. There's a disconnect afterward based on the string they store vs the string t

The super-elite aren't hurting anything - in China. In that article the author draws a connection between the faster-than-expected recovery in wealth of the American-super-elite vs. the still struggling middle and lower classes. This conn

The idea is sound and it seemed slick when I tried to use it. Unfortunately, I got several errors when trying to install packages like Slime, Paredit and Clojure-mode. I've since manually setup those packages for myself and they work fine

I completely agree. I've tried doing the Lisp + Emacs combo, and it's just too daunting for someone starting out. I'm happy as can be using Vim for now. I fully intend to give Emacs a thorough chance once more, but not until I'm more thor

Very interesting. This is the sort of augmented reality application I'm interested in pursuing. Hacking colorspaces is a novel idea to me!

These are exactly the reasons I ultimately decided to work where I am today. I think it's worthwhile to reflect on these every now and then, because it's really easy to lose site of them in face of the politics and daily toil.
